re-storying the future
Climate scientists will tell you that this decade is the most important in human history. Economists speak of impending global recession. The performing arts industry’s current narrative focuses on “collapse” and “crisis.”
We have a generational opportunity to make courageous decisions now about how we organize our societies, how we care for our relationships to the lands and waterways that give us life, and how we create a more loving world for our children and elders. We founded Groundwater Arts to meet this critical moment. We believe the performing arts are key to re-storying the future and creating a world rooted in abundance and care. Theory of Change Theater Field by Annalisa Dias
Starting in summer 2024, Groundwater Arts offers accompaniment, thought partnership, and boots-on-the-ground additive staffing to performing arts organizations, university departments, and other community organizations in moments of transformation.
We specialize in the following areas, all through a decolonial lens with a focus on climate justice*: * climate justice = racial justice = economic justice = a decolonized future
